Alert! Alert! Alert!

Post this! Pray over it! Perform according to God's leading!

Dear Friends of Christ and those who are lovers of Liberty:

I Am John Stephen Brown, Pastor of the Eternal Grace Baptist Church. As Pastor, I am a watchman upon the wall. The Warning is being sounded. Friends, do not excuse yourself as the evil Cain, the first murderer, did when he asked God: "Am I my brother's keeper?" You are your brother's keeper!

Time is of the essence. The astute words of Daniel Webster certainly apply here: "God grants liberty only to those who love it, and are always ready to guard and defend it."

Men and Brethren, will you rise up as one and help this Brother/Preacher in Florida? His name is Richard Mooneyhan. He has defended Liberty at the high cost of being persecuted and put in jail, last year, and again this year. Why? Brother Mooneyhan provided help to those in need.

Why is he in jail this time? According to his lovely wife, which I spoke to her moments ago before writing this alert), The sheriff department came to their house, in the person of officer Spicher, to arrest Richard Mooneyhan for failing to appear in court regarding hiding children. A probation violation.

Being curious, this Preacher asked Mrs. Mooneyhan whether Brother Mooneyhan was on probation, because usually that indicates a prior plea agreement. She assured he was not on probation. This situation was settled last year.

Therefore, when officer Spicer of the sheriff's department demanded identification from him at his own home, Brother Mooneyhan objected and insisted it was not required. The officer wanted Brother Mooneyhan to go out to the car with him. Brother Mooneyhan, of course, objected and insisted a warrant was required. None was on the officer's person at the time. He allegedly went to his car and returned with a paper.

Meanwhile, Brother Mooneyhan went to his closet for a rifle. (Reasons for doing so are unknown by this Preacher writing or even his wife.)

The officer returned and entered the home and came into the hall and saw Brother Mooneyhan with rifle and ordered him to put it down at once or be shot. Mrs. Mooneyhan tells this Preacher she believed God had her step in between the officer and her husband to avert a shooting.

Shortly, 15 other officers arrived arrested the Mooneyhans. Brother Mooneyhan is being held in jail without bail. To God be the glory for the great things HE hath done! Souls are being saved, while Brother Mooneyhan ministers unto those who are there.

Mrs. Mooneyhan has been charged with obstruction; she is not being held in jail. She is scheduled for a hearing next Wednesday, May 7, 1997, 1: P.M., she thinks.

What to do?

It goes without saying, nevertheless, we must never forget to pray. Seek the mind of God; ask our LORD: "What wilt Thou have me to do?" It may be God would encourage you to go and attended the hearing and ensuing trial. Possibly God would impress upon some hearts to give financial contributions to the Mooneyhans to help defray phone bills and other unexpected expenses resulting form this travesty of justice. (Email this Preacher for details)

The adage credited to Benjamin Franklin is painfully apropos in these turbulent days: "We must stick together or we will most certainly hang separately."

No one is safe when freedom fails:
Good men rot in filthy jails.
And those who cry appease, appease
are hung by those they try to please.
