A Personal Appeal

Please won't you consider?

Phillip As noted in the AboutTheFounder page [hyperlink above] I'm Phillip Wagner and I founded The Rhythm of Hope in Brazil, an outgrowth of work I began in 1995. Now I find myself back in school, late in life, undertaking study I know will better prepare me to more effectively perform this work. But the same economic circumstances which resulted in the untimely termination of my career have produced significant cutbacks in education funding. I was unable to secure a Graduate Assistantship on entry into the Indiana University Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies MA program. I am asking for your help. In the absence of funding I will realize a significant drain on my already very modest retirement savings before completing this program.

I am not compensated as Director of The Rhythm of Hope in Brazil, and my responsibilities as Director combined with the challenge of re-entering school so late in life, make it all but impossible to commit to an outside part-time job that will pay enough to make a difference. So any help, whether five dollars, fifty, five hundered or five thousand, will be most sincerely appreciated. You may send donations to the Bursar's office at Indiana University (in which case I will provide my student ID number on request) or directly to me at:

My status at Indiana University may be confirmed through the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies program by phone (812)-855-9097, or e-mail clacs@indiana.edu. My graduate advisor is Eduardo Brondízio.
