This page was created in place of a direct link because the way the Iko Poran site comes up is incompatible with the method used to display external pages in our display frame.
Iko Poran is an idealistic fee-based volunteer placement service created to match volunteers with
opportunities in Brazil in cases where the preferences and our circumstances of those individuals suggest the need for, and
benefit of, assistance to define and secure the proper opprtunity while addressing issues related to accomodations, local
transportation, etc.
This gallery is only intended for those interested in, and willing to account for the expense of,
fee-based volunteer placement.
Iko Poran places international volunteers with social programs in Brazil to generate a positive impact on the communities in which they are located. Each opportunity includes a well defined impact evaluation based on performance indicators.
Not all visitors to my site will have the resources to contract with a volunteer placement service, and the intention of this site is not to generate business for contract volunteer placement services. Individuals with limited resources are encouraged to find an appropriate opportunity in my Volunteer Openings gallery and pursue that opportunity diriectly.
Contracting with a volunteer placement service offers many advantages, and highly respected Iko Poran charges much less than virtually all other such services. I believe that the tradeoff between cost and value is warranted for those in a position to contract with Iko Poran.
According to program director Luis "Felipe" Murray ... "The volunteers have a unique experience of participating actively on the development of the tended communities ... ". Luis and I are planning on bringing Iko Poran to Bahia in the future.
