Acknowledgment

This book could not have been written but for the assistance of many, many people. I would like to especially acknowledge the great assistance given me by Mr. and Mrs. Frank S. O’Hair of Paris, Illinois, who furnished much of the information on our Illinois cousins. My thanks, too, to Mr. Adin Baber of Kansas, Illinois and Mr. Nelson T. Jones of Tampa, Florida, for the assistance they have given. Thanks to everyone who helped in collecting the current history and to my own immediate family for their patience and help when meals were late and housework undone while this was being compiled.

After the material was typed for this book, I learned of many, many more people and their descendants who should be in the book. I had promised the Putnam County, Indiana group to have the book ready by our reunion so could not redo the whole thing at this time. To make the family complete I will continue to gather the additional information and put out a Supplement to this volume to take care of additions or corrections.
