THE ENGINE

I bought a used 350 shortblock, it's a 4 bolt main (010 casting) and had it hot tanked and bored .040" over by Mattingly Automotive in Greenfield, Indiana. I am using a stock 350 cast crank and had the rod and main journals turned .010" under at Quinlan's Automotive in Indianapolis, IN. Quinlan's also balanced the rotating assembly. All engine parts were selected by me and all assembly was done by me in my garage.

I bought 5.7" Stage 2 steel rods (Summit p/n SME-3-48-05-200) and Keith Black 13:1, .388 dome, hypereutectic pistons (Summit p/n UEM-KB213-040) and had the whole rotating assembly balanced. I assembled it with Clevite 77 bearings (mains-Summit p/n CLE-MS909P10, rods-Summit p/n CLE-CB663P10). I'm using a set of cast iron heads with 2.02" intake, 1.60" exhaust, 64 cc chambers that were built at Indy Cylinder Head in Indianapolis, IN. I am using the Edelbrock Victor Jr. Tall (Summit p/n EDL-2999). A Holley 750 cfm Double Pumper with mech. secondaries (Summit p/n HLY-0-4779) on top of a TD Performance 1" spacer (Summit p/n TRD-2103). I'm also using a 7 1/4" Fluidamper (Summit p/n FLU-712430). I chose a Comp Cams (Summit p/n CCA-12-609-5) cam, (305 dur .532" Int and .555 Exh) and a set of Comp Cams solid lifters (Summit p/n CCA-813-16). As for the rockers and pushrods, I'm using Summit 1.5 ratio Roller Rockers (Summit p/n SUM-G6910) and Summit ChromeMoly pushrods (Summit p/n SUM-G6430). A Moroso 8 quart oil pan (Summit p/n MOR-20110) with a Melling hi-volume oil pump (Summit p/n SES-3-60-08-440), A Moroso electric water pump (Summit p/n MOR-63539) and behind it is a Mr. Gasket chrome steel timing cover. A B&M 153-tooth flexplate (Summit p/n BMM-20237) and a B&M Holeshot 3000 (Summit p/n BMM-20413). I then filled it with Castrol GTX SAE 40 heavy duty oil (from Pep Boys). It gets cranked over with a McLeod Mini High Torque starter (Summit p/n MCL-810152). The motor is held in the car with Moroso solid motor mounts (Automotion p/n MOR-62515) attached to Moroso Camaro SB frame brackets (Automotion p/n MOR-62630). The blue Moroso valve covers were bought from Automotion in Indy.
