This is Bobby May's '79 Malibu drag car. His wife, Joni B. May, races it at Lebanon Valley Dragway in NY. The motor is a 468ci BBC, roller cam and lifters, roller rockers, 1050 Dominator, 12.5:1 compression, and was built by: Nelson Belot of Belot Automachine, 9 Cove St. Pittsfield, MA. 01201. A TH-400 w/Fairbanks reverse valvebody. Ford 9", narrowed, with 4.56 gears and Strange axles and spool. She shifts at 7,800 RPM!

Here is Chris' 1979 Landau Classic. He bracket races it at Bristol, TN and other local tracks. His best time is 6.36 @ 108 mph in the 1/8 mile. It's powered by a 355 Chevy w/14:1 compression. He estimates it to have about 550 horsepower. Its got a JW Powerglide with 6,000 RPM stall TCI converter and a Moser 9" with 5.67 gears.

Marlin's fast '79 Malibu runs 12.5's with a 283 bored .030 over, stock crank, stock rods, 461 head with 1.94"/1.5" valves, RPM intake, and a 750 double pumper. The cam is a solid .500" lift. He's using a 125hp NOS system and hitting it right off the line. Exhaust is through small tube headers and 2" glasspack mufflers. He leaves with an 1800 stall, 7.5" Auburn housing, 3.73 gears and a set of Micky Thompson SS street tires

This is Russ' 1980 Malibu Classic Landau doing a burnout at the New England Summer Nationals. The motor is a 305ci and has these goodies: Edelbrock Performer intake, Edelbrock 600 cfm squarebore carb, mild cam, and dual exhaust. His best 1/4 mile time: 15.2. In the future he will have the car painted cherry red, drop in a 350, and add a set of 3:55 gears. He has installed JVC El Kamelon deck, MTX, Sony and Kenwood stereo components.

Here is Dennis' 1978 Malibu. It's got a 383ci small block putting out 485hp and 535 ft.lbs torque at 5800 rpm. Backed up by a TH400 tranny with a manual valve body and a trans brake. He's using 3.56:1 gears and a limited slip diff.

This is Jeremy Redmond's fine '79 Malibu based in Iowa. It has a 378ci Small Block backed up by a Powerglide. A 9" Ford with 4.56 gears turning a set of Hoosier 28 x 10.5 on Weld Draglites. His best time last season was 10.890 @ 122.33mph at Kearney, Nebraska. He runs the car in S/ST class.
